 Dr. Tanya Atagi's success as a board-certified, female plastic surgeon comes from a highly unique yet diverse combination of interests, advanced training and experience. An early fascination and aptitude with things mechanical led her to Stanford University's engineering department. While in pursuit of a BS in Product Design Engineering, Dr. Atagi's early and ongoing passion for art and fashion led to a second BA in Art Design.
Then while working as a biomedical engineer, Dr. Atagi earned a patent for an innovative medical device. And it was during this period that she recognized medicine as a means to integrate her diverse and specialized passions. Dr. Tanya Atagi's embrace of science as a design form has culminated in a distinctive approach to the art and science of Plastic Surgery.
Her work in plastic surgery therefore combines an artist's eye with advanced technical skills, a deep understanding of the human body, and a desire to make a positive impact on our patients' lives.
A board-certified and fellowship-trained plastic surgeon, Dr. Tanya Atagi received her plastic surgery training at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, Washington University in St. Louis, and specialized aesthetic fellowship training here in Denver. Now highly regarded in her field, she has published papers on nerve regeneration, implantable medical devices, as well as breast enhancement and the safety of implants.
In consecutive years since opening her practice in 2003, Dr. Tanya Atagi has been honored by her physician colleagues as a "Top Doctor" in Denver's 5280 Magazine.
