Botox® Cosmetic is a purified byproduct of medically-grown bacteria that temporarily improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
What are the side effects of Botox?
Most people experience no side effects. However, the most common side effects are headache, respiratory infection, flu syndrome, temporary eyelid droop, and nausea.
How soon will I see results?
You can expect to see results within just a few days or up to week after your treatment.
How long does the procedure take?
The entire Botox injection treatment will take 10-20 minutes.
How long do the effects of Botox last?
Botox is a temporary fix. The positive effects of your treatment will last 3-6 months. If you choose to not have Botox every 3-6 months, all muscles will regain full activation, and your lines will go back to how they started prior to any injections.
Does the procedure hurt?
Most of our patients compare the sensation to a bug bite. To minimize any discomfort, the area may be numbed with a cold pack or anesthetic cream prior to injection.
Will I look "plastic" or "frozen"?
We try to maintain your natural appearance and expressions. If you have never had Botox at our practice, we start out conservatively. Then, we ask that you come in for a two-week check-up to see how your Botox activation has worked. If we need to add a few units, we can at the two-week visit.
