Will my forehead look "frozen", or will I looked "surprised" after an Endoscopic Browlift?
Your forehead will not look "frozen" after a browlift. You will look natural and will maintain all of your own natural expressions. While you may look a little "surprised" immediately after your Browlift, this will only be temporary until the swelling has gone down.
How soon can I go back to work?
The Endoscopic Browlift procedure has a relatively quick and easy recovery. We recommend, however, that you take one week off of work, as you will experience some bruising and swelling.
How long does a Browlift last?
There are several factors that can play into how long a Browlift will last. For patients in good general health, who take good care of their skin, don't smoke, stay out of the sun, and have good genes, an endoscopic Browlift can last five to ten years.
At what age can a Browlift be performed?
Patients 20 years and higher may have a Browlift. Many choose to have a Browlift to create a younger appearance. Many of our younger patients, who have chosen a Browlift, were born with a heavy brow, which they felt made them look constantly tired or angry.
What are the risks of a Browlift?
Like with all surgery there are risks involved. At the time of your consultation with Dr. Tanya Atagi she will review these risks. Some risks can include hematoma, numbness from nerve damage to the forehead or other areas of your face, hyperpigmentation, and asymmetry. The incisions may become red, raised or infected. You may also develop a surprised look for an extended period of time if your skin is pulled to tight.
How soon can I wash my face after surgery?
Do not wash your face until the day after surgery. After 24 hours, you may GENTLY wash your face in the sink using ONLY soap and water (no cleansing creams). Gently pat dry with a towel.
When can I start wearing makeup after my Browlift procedure?
Absolutely no eye makeup for 7-10 days after surgery. You may, however, use water-based facial makeup that can be easily removed with soap and water.
When can I get my hair cut or colored after a Browlift?
Do not get your hair colored, permed or chemically treated until 4 weeks after surgery. Only use a hairdryer or curling iron on the lowest setting, as your scalp may be numb with an increased burn risk.
