Who is a candidate for a facelift? At what age do people usually get a facelift?
There is no exact age when someone may need a facelift. It is most common, however, in men and women between the ages of 40-65 who have excess skin on their neck and jowls. During your consultation with your board certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Tanya Atagi will determine if you are a good candidate for a facelift.
Are there other options I should try that may rejuvenate my appearance before I decide whether a facelift is right for me?
Dr. Atagi recommends that all facelift patients start using Fillers such as Sculptra®, Radiesse®, and Juvéderm before their facelift procedure. These fillers help rejuvenate the volume that we loose as we age. Another non-surgical option is a physician-grade skincare program that helps promote collagen growth. At Atagi Skin Aesthetics, we offer complimentary skincare and injectable consultations.

A facelift can last anywhere between 10-15 years, depending on your lifestyle. After a facelift procedure, you need to continue to maintain your healthy skin by using a good home skincare treatment plan. You should also come in for facial treatments such as facials, microdermabrasions and chemical peels.

How long is the recovery?
Due to bruising and swelling, we recommend 2 weeks for recovery. At this point, you can gradually resume normal activities.

Although some doctors do use drains, Dr. Atagi does not for the facelift procedure.

Incisions are concealed in the hairline or other natural contours of the face and ears.
