What is Laser Hair Removal?
Laser Hair Removal is an excellent alternative to shaving or waxing offering a safe and effective method of removing unwanted body hair.
Is Atagi Plastic Surgery and Skin Aesthetics Hair Removal Permanent?
Laser Hair Removal can permanently disable any hair follicle in its active growth cycle on the day of your treatment. Follicles not active at the time of the first treatment will become treatable as they enter their growth phase in a few weeks. Most active hair follicles must be treated more than once. Circumstances such as pregnancy, menopause, certain medications and hormonal conditions can trigger growth by a dormant follicle. As with any active follicle, these hairs can then be treated. Any new growth will be much lighter in color and considerably finer in texture because of the procedure. Touch-ups may be needed.
Where can Laser Hair Removal be used?
Any place on the skin's surface can be treated. Popular areas include the upper lip and chin, underarms, bikini area, legs, back and shoulders.
Can tanned skin be treated?
Tanned skin can be unsafe to treat, so always inform us if you have been tanning or exposed to the sun within the last three weeks. We will adjust your treatment settings or alter your treatment regime accordingly to give you the safest most effective experience.
Can Atagi Plastic Surgery and Skin Aesthetics treat all skin colors with Laser Hair Removal?
Presently, all but the darkest skin types can be treated. An individual consultation is necessary to determine your skin's specific needs.
How long does the treatment take?
A treatment normally takes between 15 and 45 minutes. Treatments are usually scheduled 4 to 6 weeks apart, depending on the area being treated.
How soon will I see results?
Treated hair will begin to work its way out of the follicle and will start to fall out between 10 to 14 days after the treatment.
Are there any potential side effects?
Side effects may include slight redness (most clients return to natural color within 20 to 30 minutes). Pigment changes within the skin, blisters and hot spots are rare but occasionally occur.
