The leading aesthetic industry quality purveyor, NewBeauty magazine, called Thread Lifts one of the latest “Celebrity Obsessions” on its most recent Winter-Spring 2019 cover. We recently expanded our menu with thread lifts to meet a need among patients who desire a more pronounced rejuvenation and lifting effect than non-invasive skin tightening treatments can provide, but who aren’t yet ready for or interested in surgery.
If you’re interested in thread lifts, here’s a closer look at the benefits of this state-of-the-art skin rejuvenation treatment, including the makings of an ideal candidate.
Thread lifts dissolve so there’s no risk of scar tissue.
We perform thread lifts with NovaThreads®, which are made of polydioxanone (PDO), fully-dissolvable surgical sutures that are commonly used in cardio-thoracic surgery. These PDO threads are considered to be one of the safest materials to be implanted in the body. We carefully insert PDO threads parallel to the skin’s surface to provide a scaffolding-type of support structure beneath the skin. Because thread lifts also stimulate the skin’s natural healing response, triggering new collagen and elastin growth, they also provide age-defying benefits for up 18 months following treatment, long after the threads have fully dissolved (which occurs 4 to 6 months following insertion).
Thread lifts are ideal for mild sagging of skin on the face or neck.
Men and women in their 30s, 40s and 50s are typically the best-suited for thread lifts. This is because this age range usually experiences only mild to moderate skin laxity, not severe sagging.
Thread lifts provide long-lasting rejuvenation.
After undergoing their thread lift session, many patients report that their skin continues to improve over time. This is because thread lifts rejuvenate the skin from within, smoothing lines and wrinkles and providing a lifting effect for the cheeks, jowls, or neck for up to two years per treatment.
